Welcome to Parkrosia!

Welcome to Parkrosia!

Hello Parkrose peeps! This is Shawn, the other half of Greg Strannigan.  If you are wondering why I am the author/creator of this blog instead of your pastor, let me recount a recent conversation for you:

Me: So, what do you hope to accomplish with the Parkrose blog, dear?

Greg: I have no idea why anyone would blog in the first place . . .

So, you are stuck with me, dear readers!  But this will not be your typical blog . . . it won’t be so much about what’s happening at Parkrose–it will be about YOU!  What you are thinking, doing, praying about.  Expect to see me, armed with my camera, doing “man on the street” interviews each Sunday.  I hope to incorportate photos, videos, interviews, contests, recipes . . . everything but the kitchen sink in this blog.

I’d like to highlight a new ministry opportunity in this first blog:  the Parkrose clothing closet.  The room is freshly painted, shelves and racks are being built . . . we are ready to roll except for two things:

1)  We need a name. Hence, the “Name that Clothes Closet” contest.  The winner will receive a coupon for a free coffee and donut at the Life Cafe’.  Leave your suggestions in the “Comment” section!

2) We need clothes!!!! The room was filled to the brim with donations until a few days ago, when we sent all the stuff to the White Swan Reservation outside Yakima, Washington.  A fire swept through the reservation on Saturday, leaving 20 famlies homeless.  We were thrilled to give the clothes and blankets to a great cause, but we need to replenish our inventory.

JUST SAY NO TO GOODWILL!
